Thank you for taking time to visit my website. To tell you a little bit about myself…First and foremost I am the mother of two gorgeous little boys and wife of an incredibly supportive husband.
My first career was in nursing and I have a Bachelor’s of Science from The Medical University of SC. Now I know you are wondering how did she make that jump? My first child was born very premature and after his discharge from the hospital I resigned from my nursing career to stay home and take care of him. When things settled down with him and he started school I was able to pursue a smoldering talent that had lay dormant for many years.
As a youth I was always drawing and painting murals for family and friends. As a young adult I dabbled in watercolors; however, at that time of my life I was very busy working a full time job and going to nursing school. When my children started school and I found I had a little time on my hands, my Mother, also an artist, suggested that I take classes at the Gibbes Museum of Art. It was there that I discovered painting with oils on canvas, and an immediate love affair was born! I love the fluidity of oils and the extensive palette I can create, every color imaginable can be created with oils. That is what I feel painting is – using your imagination and inspiration to capture a single moment in time.
I live in West Ashley and my home is on the marsh looking across the Ashley River at the Peninsula of Charleston. Who could need any more inspiration than that? I have painted that very sunrise and reveled in nature’s beauty as the sun shone across the river and through the vivid, spring, green, marsh grasses. With a cup of coffee in one hand and my paintbrush in the other I greeted that day and it is burned into my memory and canvas.
